Art Northwest

From my earliest memory as a child in Portland, Oregon, I was holding
onto a crayon, drawing lines and circles, lots of color and youthful
creativity. Being from the Northwest it seemed only natural to bring my
art under the name of "Art Northwest". This is home. This is where we
work on wood projects such as toys, boxes, games and custom
framing. This is where we play, we enjoy the great outdoors in hiking,
fishing, biking and picnics.
Today a paintbrush and graphite has replaced the crayon. Nothing
against the crayon, although it seems other media lends itself to more
depth and imagination.
I am self-taught and a teacher, the gift has always been part of me, from
portraiture to landscapes, or murals depicting reality or fantasy.
Why do I paint? Painting allows me to share with others my visions and
interpretations of my Northwest world. More than once I have been
impressed with the ability of some fine artist to say the most with the
simplest tools. Perhaps this is why I like using the amazing--pencil.
With my wife and daughter, we
have our home in Graham,
Washington today.
